The trends for Winter 2010 are...
Nude, skin and peach shades of colour. I tend to look better in bright and bold colours, so to wear these soft colours for the winter season I am going to do it in my accessories - scarfs, flower pins, necklaces and earrings. Diva have a great range of accessories in these colours.
Trench Coats are another must this season. I have a gorgeous purple trench from last year, it is a little big but nothing a belt wont fix. My favorite store Crossroads has some great coats at great prices.
Leather jackets are also big this season and there are lots around in the stores to chose from. I went for a brown jacket and I bought mine from Kmart, it looks good enough and was affordable for me. Last year I was lucky enough to pick one up from an op shop (but it is too big for me now that's why I purchased a new one) but now they may be hard to find just because they are back in fashion.
Textures - feathers and fur are back in. This can be easily done using accessories. I bought my peacock feather headband from Diva of course, they also have a selection of jewelery incorporating peacock feathers.
Stripes and anything french inspired. Check out Targets website for some french inspired outfits. While visiting Paris a few years ago, I fell in love with everything french so I am very pleased that this is a hot trend. I am definitely going to be buying a stripped tee and wrapping myself in scarfs this winter. For some ideas on how to wear stripes check out Jessica's blog, she issued a great challenge and has posted some great outfit photos from fellow bloggers who took up her stripes challenge.
Tights are very popular which is great because that means you can wear more skirts and dresses through winter. They come in all sorts of colours and patterns and look great with ballet flats and boots.
And animal prints are popular again. You don't have to go all out with the animal print, I just bought a cute pair of animal print shoes from K mart for a bargain price of $10 that I can mix into my outfits to keep up with the trend.
