1.   New Year's is (awesome/lame/other)  is lame, I know I am boring. We have never been party people so we never go to huge gatherings and now we have a little boy we tend to stay home and have a few people over for a BBQ, board games and a few drinks.

2.  Last New Year's Eve I had friends over for dinner and we were cleaned up and in bed before midnight!

3.  My New Year's resolution is to lose my last 10 kilos (I have already lost 30 kilos) to get down to my goal weight.

4.  The best way to spend New Year's Eve is with your loved ones.

5.  My prediction for an up-and-coming trend in 2011  hopefully not any more 80s clothes

6.  This New Year's Eve I will   be staying at home with my little boy. The hubby is working so we don't have any big plans. There is a fire works display at 8 o'clock down in the village so we will probably go and watch that. It is going to be minus 28 degrees so we probably wont be staying out for long!

7.  A fresh start is  a fantastic thing to do and I find that the hubby and I do it often. We are always changing things up like moving house, changing jobs and even changing countries! Variety is the spice of life.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everybody and Happy Birthday Jesus! I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and that you enjoy spending time with your family and friends. I hope that Santa delivers you lots of special presents and that you get to eat lots of delicious holiday food.
On the this special day, no matter how busy I am I always take the time to thank and praise God for all he has done for me and all he has given to us, I remember the loved ones I have lost, I reflect on the year that has passed and dream about the possibilities in the year to come. And this year I will be calling my family back home in Australia to tell them how much fun I am having, that I miss them all terribly and that I love them very much.
One thing I have missed this year is singing Christmas Carols with my Church band and listening to my dear friend Pamela sing my most favorite Christmas carol Oh Holy Night. I have been listening to the Glee Christmas Album and I love it, have a listen to their version of Oh Holy Night (not as good as Pamela but it has gotten me through!)

YUM!

We made our very first gingerbread house. Let me correct that, we decorated our very first gingerbread house! I bought a pre made house from the supermarket and William and I decorated it together. Mostly Will just licked the icing and ate all the lollies before we could put them on the house.

fill in the blank

1.   Giving is  something I love doing. My motto is I am blessed to be a blessing to to others. God has given me skills, money and love so that I can share those with people around me.

2.  Receiving is    something I am yet to get used to. My husband tells me that I am hard to read when people give me something, I never give the right reaction. I am truly thankful that they have given me a gift or done something for me but I never know how to express my feelings properly. I am working on the reaction thing I promise people!

3.  The best gift I ever received was my gold bracelet that I wear all the time. It was a gift from my Step Mum after my Dad passed away, it was meant to be a gift from him. I wear it all the time and never take it of. Every time I look at it I am reminded of him and how much he loved me.

4.  The best gift I ever gave was  a car. When we were in Canada a few years back we had bought a car. When we returned to Australia we gave our car to the Salvation Army church we were attending. We gave it to them with the intention that they would pass it onto someone who was in need and could benefit from a new car.

5.  Something intangible that I wish I could receive is    my mothers sewing, knitting and crocheting skills. I would love to be able to make clothes, scarves and beanies for me and my little family. ?i think when I eventually return home to Oz I am going to have to get my mum to teach me.

6.  Something intangible that I wish I could give is    a happy and positive outlook on life. Lately I have come across lots of people that have such a negative attitude. They are at a ski resort on a holiday of a life time and they still find the time to be annoying, to complain and be grumpy. Cheer up people!

7.  The one gift I always wanted as a child, but never got was   a Billabong t-shirt. Billabong is an Australian surf brand and everybody at school had Billabong clothing except for me. I just wanted to be like everybody else and wear a Billabong t -shirt but they were expensive and we didn't have a lot of money. Sounds stupid to me now, and I have got over that need to wear label clothing in fact I still don't think I have ever bought any Billabong clothing!

I have a super busy weekend end planned, I am working, going into town to do a last minute Christmas shop and we are going skiing. We are even going to strap some skis onto the boy!
Hope you all have a fabulous weekend xoxo

Snow uniform

This is what I look like most of the time when I am out and about on the mountain. Sometimes I exchange my jeans for snow pants. You cant step out of the house without a warm jacket for more then five minutes here and the snow is thick and heavy so I usually have to exchange my cute boots for my snow boots. I don't mind the snow boots so much anymore because they keep my feet warm and dry and most importantly on my feet, not on my bum in the snow after slipping over!

Here are some snow inspired sets from Polyvore that I liked. I love looking at things on Polyvore, I am a visual person and looking at the sets inspires me.

Fill in the blank Friday on Saturday

I know I am a little late with my Friday post seeing that it is Saturday but I have been super busy with work and having fun that I have not had a chance to sit down at the computer until now. And my computer has been out of action for the last few days. The boy split hot chocolate on my laptop and now the key board dose not work :( The hubby has taken it apart and is trying to fix it. He is pretty handy like that so he can probably do it but last night we went into town and bought a key board to plug into the laptop while he is still fixing it. Fingers cross he can do it.
1.   I wish       That my family and friends could come and visit me in Canada for Christmas. We are having so much fun and it would be great to share it with my loved ones.

2.  Yesterday I   I did all my Christmas present shopping for the little boy for under $30! I went to Value Village, an awesome thrift store here in Canada and bought him some awesome toys and story books.

3.  Today I will       go to work and then tonight we are going to go to take the boy to carnival night (a fun night for kids here at the ski resort) and then we are going to drink hot chocolate and watch the Big White fireworks .

4.  Tomorrow I will   possibly go skiing with my hubby.

5.  Maybe    We will go ice skating as well, if we are not to tired after skiing.

6.  Someday        I wold love to buy a caravan and spend a year driving around Australia, seeing the beautiful sights and camping in the bush and in caravan parks.

7.  I love       my little family. We are having lots of fun together here in the snow. It has been a great bonding time for the three of us as we get to spend lots more time together then we did back home .

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Christmas is just around the corner

I love Christmas time! Around our village the decorations are being hung and the carols are being played over the speakers.  Christmas has to be my favorite time of the year. I love decorating the house, cooking lovely sweet treats with my mother and sister in law, Christmas parties and most of all spending quality time with my family and friends.

1.   Holiday spirit  makes me feel all warm and happy inside. I am a sucker for Christmas - family dinners, gift giving, giving to the needy, going to church and singing carols I love it all.

2.  The holidays are incomplete without  my family and friends, I am going to miss them all so much this year.

3.  My favorite things to do around the holidays is   cooking sweet treats with my mother in law and sister in law, dinner time picnics down at the beach and singing Christmas Carols at church.

4.  A holiday tradition my family and I have is   to go to the beach on boxing day for a picnic lunch and we go swimming and kayaking.

5.  Holiday music is    kind of corny but I LOVE it, I love singing Christmas carols. My favorite carol is O Holy Night.

6.  This year, I'll be spending the holidays   in Canada in the snow. It will be a quiet one this year as it is only me, the hubby and our little boy.

7.  Holiday wish list  there is nothing on my wish list at the moment, I am sure that if I was at home there would be a tone of things that I would love but I am pretty content with what I have at the moment. One thing I would love is for my family and friends to come and visit me here in Canada for Christmas!.

Christie from Childhood101 had this super great idea for a Christmas tree. She has taken a tree branch and wrapped it in white wool. It is a very simple idea and it looks fabulous.

Stacey from Blogs, tea and me made this wonderful advent calender. There is a pocket for each day leading up to Christmas and each morning one of her precious little angels gets to take out a letter. The letter gives them instructions about what the special advent activity for the day is going to be. I love it, such a great idea.

Have you come across any great Christmas ideas or Christmas blogs? I would love to hear about them.
