fill in the blank friday

my favorite colour is purple, purple and more purple. i wear purple clothes, i always write in purple pen and i even dress my son in purple! (don't worry it was a very cool purple t from the boys clothing section and it has a blue lion on it)

my travel destination of choice is italy. at the moment i would really love to go back to italy and do some backpacking around the country. taking in the beautiful sights and eating their amazing food.

my favorite food is of course chocolate. i can not go more then a few days without eating chocolate.

my happy place is home. i love being at home, there is nothing better then coming home to my little castle after being out all day, relaxing in the living room in front of the fire with the family. my home makes me feel calm and relaxed, kind of like being on a holiday and i think that is why i love it so much because i just love being on holiday, who doesn't right?

my favotie saying is that is karma kramer (seinfeld) i truly believe in what goes around comes around.

something that friends might say about me is... i don't know, maybe i should ask them!

 I wholeheartedly believe that no matter what is happening in your life, there is always something that you can be thankful for... no matter how simple it is.  

i am loving chai vanilla tea, mmmm...

i came across this new brand of chai tea at the good food and wine show that i went to a few weeks back.

i was so excited when i saw that they sell it at my local supermarket.

for all of my perth dwelling readers it is avaible at selected iga stores.

you should definaetly try it, it is super sweet and delicious.

you can make it with hot milk or for the health conscious hot water.


i amloving seeing my little boy spend time with his grandparents.

he is lucky enough to have 4 grandparents in his life and he has so much fun with them all and of course they just adore him


i am loving snuggling up in my warm and cozy bed and reading

we have been having some wild weather here at the moment and there is nothing better then curling up with a good book while the wind, rain, thunder and lightening is going off outside.

the little guy was having such fun at the library picking books out of the shelf and sitting down to read them that he did not want to go home!

i am loving my wonderful mother in law

our washing machine has broken down so every few days i am over at the in-laws place doing our washing

when i am there she makes me a cup of tea and a snack and sometimes she even puts a load through the machine for me, drys and folds it and returns it to me.

i just love that lady

western derby

it has taken me awhile to get around to posting about what i did on the weekend as i have been super busy.

school holidays for me have come to an end and i returned to work on monday. we have had three days of meetings and courses and the kiddies start back tomorrow.

it has taken a little while getting used to wearing my school teacher hat instead of my mumma on holidays hat but i am prepared and ready to go for when the kiddies arrive at school.

on the weekend i went to the footy. it was not just any old regular football match, it was a western derby. our two home teams against each other.

there is a fierce rivalry between the two teams and even between the fans. my hubby supports the fremantle dockers and i support the west coast eagles.

it was a freo dockers home game so i was surrounded by the purple army of fans.

we had been given two dockers membership tickets for free to see the match. we have contacts in the freo dockers so we were actually sitting with the players who were not playing that day and all of their wives and girlfriends - the WAGS!

i couldn't believe it, we had the best seats in the house. we were actually sitting with the coaches family.

however i am an eagles supporter so i was the only one clapping in my section when they scored a goal!

my team was victorious of course, but it was a very close game. we one by one point. it was a thrilling end as the dockers had a free kick after the siren had gone, they missed so we were still ahead by one.

i just love the footy and we had a great time cheering our teams on and i had an even better time because my team won!

{thrifty treasures}

i had the most amazing luck when i went op shop shopping the other day.
every store that i visited had piles of wonderful treasures for me.
here are the lovely things that i found...

i just can not resist a beautiful teapot even though these days i am mainly dunking tea bags instead of brewing tea leaves

i am totally loving this sweet little deer family

every time i see something with a little deer i just have to have it...

and anything to do with birds i must have as well

i also found lots of furniture, so much furniture that i had to go back with a trailer!

my hubby helped me to go and pick it all up and when he saw what i bought he just shook his head.

i asked him whether he liked the bedside table i found and he said no, but he still loaded them up on the trailer, bought them home and placed them by the bed and stowed away his things in them.

that's why i love him, he quietly puts up with my crazy finds from op shops.

weekends... my favorite end to anything

the weekend is here and it is a good one.

it is cold outside so we are inside with our woolly socks on and the kettle is working overtime.

florence and the machine {love that gorgeous girl} is playing through the house...

play time has been a real fun time with the little guy, he is so imaginative i just love it...

and while the little guy is distracted with other fun things i am doing some rearranging and decorating in the house...

and the best bit of the weekend is yet to come, tomorrow we are off to the football woohoo! i am so excited and i cant wait...

loving the simple things in life

i know i said i was going to wait a few weeks but when someone says do you want to go to the movies right now, well you just say yes drop everything and go



i love my chickens and the mountains of eggs we have...

with so many eggs around the house what is a family to do...
bake scrumptious cakes of course! 

if only we had a better oven
it came a little burnt, but no worries
just slice of the burnt bits, slap on jam and cream and you are good to go
and no it is not the cooks it was our terrible oven, it burns everything


i love the cute little buddy that william adopted at ikea this week

there was a whole wall of these little guys - there were little blonde buddies and cute chinese buddies and you could purchase a packet of clothes that had three different outfits in them, too cute.
he got him yesterday and he has been carrying him around ever since.

♥ a sweet hanky bunting for my living room

i have a whole pile of table linen that was given to me by my mumma. some of it was hers and some of it once belonged to my nanna.

i sifted through the collection and found these sweet little hankies. so after giving them a good wash and iron i tied them all together and viola!

i went and saw Harry Potter 7 part 2 with my big sis

it was AWESOME!

i have loved the whole series of books and films

and even though it is over i will continue to cherish them 

and read and watch them over and over again

let me tell you about my weekend {much more interesting} :::

on friday we headed to the city to go to the

{good food and wine show}

we went with our besties and we had a fabulous time together eating and drinking our way through the day. we were also lucky enough to see gary mehigan and george calombaris (famous for their cooking shows, cook books and many restaurants all over the world) in a live cooking show. they are very funny guys when they get going.

after we ate our way through the convention center we came out the other side and walked into the city to go to the movies. we watched transformers 3.

i enjoyed the other transformers movies but this one was a little far fetched for me, it did however give me a good laugh.

after the movies we visited some of our friends favorite haunts in the city

the comic book store,

a cool dungeon style game shop and the most awesome burger bar for dinner

{jus burgers}

the burger bar was in north-bridge and it was super funky and the burgers were divine

definitely worth a visit for all my perth dwelling readers.
