Happy Australia Day
Happy Australia Day everybody!
It is a quiet day for us today, spending time together as a little family sheltering indoors from the heat outside. We plan to venture out to the beach later in the day when the sun is lower and the temperature is cooler.
Today is a day where we take time out to appreciate our country. To celebrate the things that make our country and its people great. People all over Australia will be heading to the beach, swimming, boating, sun-baking and fishing. There will be plenty of BBQ's with lamb and sausages pavlovas and lamingtons and of course we always finish off the day with a big fireworks display in the city.
What I love about my country is its beautiful landscape with its beaches, islands, mountains, bush, farmland and rivers. The weather is wonderful especially in our little part of the country in the west, endless blue skies and sunshine. The people are friendly and laid back and we are always laughing. Our government looks after us with welfare and healthcare which a lot of us take for granted and we have freedoms that people in other parts of the world do not get to enjoy.
I have traveled the world over and lived abroad and let me tell you there is no place like Australia. It is my home and I am proud to be Australian and I am truly blessed to live here.

Beautiful post Meek! Making me feel homesick for that part of the country :) xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks Jen, I know what homesickness feels like but at least you get to live in another beautiful part of our country. I just love Tassie, it is so green and beautiful. I bet you and the family are having fun exploring it!
