The little guy!!!
I will admit it, I am a big wuss when it comes to creepy and crawly critters. Yesterday me and the little guy discovered a little dead mouse on the couch. I saw it, freaked, and ran for the hills. No joke, I couldn't even go back into the room to see if it was definitely dead!
I was faced with a big problem. The hubby was at work and with no one else around to be brave it was up to us to get rid of the little critter. We put our two heads together and came up with a plan. Neither one of us wanted to deal with the mouse, we were both too scared. We would have to do it together. Will grabbed his bucket and spade and the plan was that one of us would hold the bucket and the other one would lift the mouse into the bucket and then we would toss it out the nearest exit.
Well it turned out I was not brave enough. It took all my will power just to be in the room with the thing {see I told you I really am a wuss} but the little guy came through for me. He faced up to his fears, put on a brave face for his scared mummy and he dealt with the mouse all by himself. He lifted it into the bucket, and very calmly walked outside with it and tossed it onto the grass {we got daddy to fully expose of the horrible thing when he got home}.
I have a lot to learn from my son. He may only be four and a half but he has already shown me that he can face up to his fears and do what needs to be done. I am so glad that I have a brave little boy around the house to help me out, I am sure living in the bush we are going to encounter some more little creepy crawlies that we have to deal with!
Oh I thought your story was going to include a snake....so lucky you had such a brave little guys around to defend the house. x
