Come in and let me show you around...

Last week I showed you around the outside of our little house on the hill. You can take a quick look again here.

Now come on in and I will show you around inside. First lets start with my favorite room in the whole house at the moment {probably because it is the only room that is completely finished}.

The little girls room...

It is such a wonderful feeling to have this room all completed. To have it beautifully decorated with all the little treasures that I have been collecting over the years and to have it stocked with baby supplies makes my heart happy. Now all I need is the little baby girl to arrive and the room is complete.

In this sweet little space I have many sentimental things. I have toys and trinkets from when I was a little girl, furniture that has been passed down through the generations and lovely little things that I have collected on my journey around the world.

The room already has a lovely feeling to it and I just love the good memories that this little room already holds. The good memories come from all the treasures that are in there. Nearly every little thing has it own story. When I look at my crib I begin to think of my father who passed away suddenly a few years ago. He lovingly picked out this crib for my sisters and I to use for his grandchildren. My sister has used it for her children and now it has been passed down to me.

The doll that sits upon the shelf used to be my most treasured possession when I was a little girl. She has a name but I wont tell you yet and that is going to be the name of my baby girl. This doll was my constant companion and I would take her everywhere. She was much loved and is wearing in places, her hair has been brushed over and over again and has lost its curl but all of that just adds to her charm.

The little pearl bracelet a gift from my dear friend, a missionary in Cambodia. It once belonged to her little princess and now it belongs to mine. A sweet little reminder of a beautiful friendship. Vintage tins, doilies and furniture from my grandmother and quilts that were lovingly made by my mother all passed down to me and now to my little girl. There are souvenirs from around the globe from Paris to Cambodia which remind me of the wonderful journey I have been on to get to this point in time.

Now all I need to make the room complete is my little princess. Only nine more weeks to go until she arrives. We are very excited to meet her and bring her home.
