Our little country home is a work in progress, there is always something to fix, clean up, buy, plant, cut, water.... and the list goes on.
As I look around our home I am still overcome with wonder and amazement at how God has provided for us. He not only provided us with a great place to live but He also managed to fill it with furniture and household items all through the generosity of our family and friends. Of a house full of furniture we only had to buy four pieces everything else was lovingly donated to us. From couches to vintage sugar bowls, from outdoor furniture to an ironing board we have everything we need.
When we were packing up and getting to leave our little apartment in Cambodia at the end of last year I couldn't help but worry and be a little anxious about what we were going home to. All we could bring back to Australia was a suitcase each so I couldn't even bring anything home with me.
We had very little to our name and with a baby on the way we had a lot of things we needed to buy. But when we said yes to God and follow his plan for us to Cambodia we knew what we were doing and that at some time we would be returning with very little and would have to start over again.
So once again I found myself laying all my worries and trouble at His feet and followed my husbands advice of don't worry it will all be alright and of course God came through and my hubby was right!
We have been blessed beyond my imagination and I give thanks for those little blessings everyday.
Let me show you around our lovely little country home, I guess this is for my international friends who cant just pop in for a cup of tea and a look around.
First I will show you around outside...
Our little house sits on-top a little hill and we are surround by lovely trees and bush. We can see out over the lake and to the ocean and out the back we can see out to the hills. We love to sit on our veranda and listen to the birds sing and watch the sunset in the evening.
When we moved in everything was very dry and needed some tender loving care so we started pruning, planting and watering and very slowly everything is coming back to life. We are excited to have some green grass growing out the front now.
Out the back and through the garden gate we have a little orchard with lots of different fruit trees.
The hubby has just put up a shed that will eventually house our family of chickens and we have grand plans for a large vegetable patch as well. Down the back of our property there is an organic lettuce farm which is operated by somebody else and hopefully soon we will reap the benefits of having them there with some free lettuce!
We have the best landlords ever and they are so helpful when we need things fixed or things need to be done around the place. The boys are loving living out here. They are always outside working on something our hunting for kangaroos and rabbits at twilight. Bed time for the little guy gets later and later each day because I just cant bear to tear him away from all the fun he is having in the great outdoors.
So there you have it, a little sneak peek into the wild wilderness that is our backyard! William calls our home the jungle, a very fitting name for it at the moment!
Stay tuned for a tour of the rest of our little shack:)

Everything looks so nice and peaceful Marieka! :) -Anne
