First day of school for twenty thirteen

The little guy had his first day at kindy today.

He has been eagerly counting down the days until school started, asking each day if it was school today. Some days he would change his mind and decide that he wanted to stay home and learn with mummy instead but when I told him about all the fun things his teachers would do with him and his new friends and all the cool play ground equipment they had he would change his mind and get all excited about school again. 
 
He was excited this morning and was all smiles as he was dressing in his new school uniform. He looked so cute when he was all dressed, shoes on, teeth brushed and hair styled. And of course he looked very grown up and for a split second I was a little sad about my baby boy growing up.

I am so excited for this next stage in his life. Making new friends at school, birthday parties to attend and play dates to go on. He is learning more and more things everyday and now that somebody else is investing in him as well at school he is going to soak up even more new things to tell me all about.

I love our school community, it is such a loving and caring place. He has the most wonderful teachers and it was so lovely to walk away from his classroom this morning knowing that he was in great hands.

When we picked him up from school he told us all about the fun things he did. He was happy and full of life. He had  a great first day experience and it looks like we are going to have a great year at school ahead of us.
