It would be the perfect weather for drinking tea today and if you were to pop around to my place for a cuppa we would be sitting outside on the verandah enjoying the cool breeze. The last few days have been unbearably hot at our house, so hot that yesterday we had to escape and seek out refuge elsewhere.
You would probably notice how big my baby belly is and comment how I have really popped out in the last few weeks. You don't have to tell me, I already know! Baby girl is already head down {and causing me a little discomfort} and we have about 9 weeks to go.
I don't think there is really any safe comment to make to a pregnant woman about her belly so be careful! If you comment that they are carrying small then you will freak her out and she will be thinking is my baby underweight or if you say gosh you are really big now you will also freak her out and she will be thinking she has put on too much weight. It is best to stick with a lovely compliment like you look wonderful - not glowing - just stick with wonderful!
I would show you the little girls nursery. I am so happy that it is all finished, the only room in the house that is complete at this stage. I love spending time in there tinkering around still, even the little guy loves to go in there and play with the little play things. He likes to put his soft toys to bed in the bassinet, I think he is just as excited as me.
We are settling in to the routine of school, the little guy started full days this week and being Friday he was a little off today, probably tiered. If you have any experience in navigating school life I would ask how you do it and if you have any useful tips to share.
Will had a dentist visit this morning and it did not go well. He was too upset to have the procedure so now we are being refereed to a hospital so that he can be put under general anesthetic. This makes me very nervous and anxious. I really do not like hospital visits and I think my nerves are being tested. Between William and I we have had so many medical appointments lately and now a lot more to come. Some reassurance and a prayer would be welcomed lovingly. I am laying my worrisome and anxious ways at His feet and am relying on his comfort and strength for both William and I.
I would share with you that life is great being home. I am loving being back on the coast, spending lots of time at the sea shore. I am loving being surrounded with my family and friends and especially being back in my home church. I actually feel spiritually refreshed after our time away last year. I learnt so much and I am all the better for it. Deep down my hubby and I really miss Cambodia. We are ready for a return visit and we are dreaming of returning hopefully at the end of the year or the beginning of the next. I would even invite you to come along with us, to see it for yourself and experience my wonderful Cambodia.
Our afternoon together would have to come to an end as now I am a school mum and I have to do the school run. I completely understand now why my mum used to make me wait for her after school when I was a little girl. My mum would make me sit in the school yard and wait until she would arrive after all the traffic had cleared and I was basically the last child left. I don't do that to Will but navigating the car park in the mornings and afternoons is not fun and I am really not looking forward to doing it with a baby in tow next term.
Thank you for stopping by and I invite you back again for tea and another long chat.
I am linking up with the lovely Em over at tea cups too.
You can pop on over to her blog here and join in on the tea party too.
What a sweet looking nursery... and you really do look wonderful! :) Not long to go! :)
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing Meek, I know you are probably not feeling that great (I never did, towards the end), and I'm hoping you're able to put your feet up a whole lot more.
ReplyDeleteI hope William goes okay at the dentist. Over a year ago now, Eden was referred to a paediatric dentist, and had to have work done under a general anaesthetic. It was scary at the time, we've never had to do anything like that before for either us or the kids, but it was so quick and easy and over and done with before we knew it. He'll be fine!
And the school thing?? The only advice I really have is a solid routine in the morning: my kids know that after breakfast they have to get dressed, including shoes and socks, ready to walk out the door. While they're doing this I do lunches, and anything else I get done in the morning now becomes a bonus ;)
